Bannerista was a custom-built Discord bot that handled the creation of the server banner that appears above the channel list.
The bot tracked the messages and voice activity of each user within 95 Degrees and generated a server banner image everyday at midnight UK time with the highest to lowest active members' avatars that day.
As of June 2024, Bannerista as a standalone bot has been shut down and the features provided have been rolled into Guardian. The daily server banner generation and commands remain identical, just accessed via a different bot, however the daily refresh of the banner now occurs at 23:55 UK time instead of midnight in order to reduce load due to the amount of nightly tasks Guardian does at once.
Also in June 2024, the "There I am, Gary! There I am!!" achievement was added, which users earn the moment they first appear on the banner. The name is a reference to a scene from SpongeBob SquarePants, with the badge also including SpongeBob's hand.
Features
As well as handling the server banner image internally, Bannerista offers some commands to users to see data related to the banner, including:
/banner: Shows the banner image in full resolution./find: Highlights a user on the banner./who: Displays a full list of each user on the banner that day./stats: Shows a user's stats, including how many times they've appeared, as well as counts of how many times they appeared first and within the top 5.
